The LV-MaxSonar® High Performance Ultrasonic Rangefinders
|
MaxBotix® Inc., believes the LV-MaxSonar® high performance ultrasonic rangefinders to be the easiest to use ultrasonic
rangefinders available. The LV-MaxSonar® sensor line offers very short to long-range detection and ranging, in an incredibly small package
with ultra low power consumption.
|
LV-MaxSonar® Special Features
|
2.5V to 5.5V Operation: Provides great performance through the voltage range so operation at either 3.3V or 5V, means that users
of low voltage microcontrolers do not have to provide an extra supply for the sensor.
|
Stable Range Readings: The stablity of the LV-MaxSonar® sensor lineup range readings puts the LV-MaxSonarŽ products in a class
by themselves! Compare for yourself, or look at our test results.
|
No Dead Zone: The LV-MaxSonar® sensor line does not have a dead zone. Other ultrasonic range finders (especially single sensor
range finders) have dead zones, some longer than 6-inches. Dead zones are problematic for many applications (such as robot mini sumo and robot
wall following situations).
|
Custom Sensor Beam Widths: Users can choose the detection pattern that matches the application. Five products are listed on our
web page, but we also sell custom programmed beam widths.
|
Simple Calibration: The LV-MaxSonar® product line automaticly calibrates itself, after power up, before taking the first
reading. (In normal indoor environments, no other calibration is required.)
|
Smart Amplitude Range Thresholding: The LV-MaxSonar® sensor line is easier to use because small objects (clutter) outside of the
central beam are ignored. The LV-MaxSonar® sensor line measures the returning range reading and makes SMART™ detection decisions.
This SMART™ signal processing provides stable and accurate range readings. In addition, SMART™ signal processing controls the
beam width and provides long range (over 6-meters) ranging within the central beam area, and yet rejects objects outside of this central
area.
|
Easy User Interface: The LV-MaxSonar®-EZ1™ user interface was designed to be very easy and intuitive to use. The interface
output formats included are pulse width output, analog voltage output, and asynchronous serial digital output. All interfaces work without
user code or complicated setup strings.
